Description

Zachariah Curtis and Rosa Bright discussing other people's business at the police station. Olivier Paindavoine really doesn't want to get involved.

Aw yeah, OMNIPRESENT OFFICE GOSSIP! And the detectives! :D And a new face! :la: Is this Rosa's new tweaked look? I notice that she's different but I'm not sure if it's you tweaking her or your style evolving over time! Either way, I like it, all their faces are very expressive. :)

Poor Olivier, he's so out of place! I started wondering we'd feel more at home among Chauncey's colleagues and no, nope, I don't think so... :XD: He'd probably get along with someone like Fisher and Wynne but I dunno if Olivier would like to hang with "uniform". I have a feeling people tend to develop ability to bite back by the time they get further up the ladder. I mean it's not like anyone would be cruel but I don't think Olivier likes constant joshing or snarking back and forth so that wouldn't be that different from what happens in this picture.

Speaking of, you could draw some uniform. :la: I notice that uniformed officers and detectives almost never mix (and shows tend to be about one group or another) so I think it's fun throwing them in together. The closest thing I have to compare it to in my own experience is the uni building art classes were in also contained economics department and we only shared a couple of classes and mostly saw "the others" in hallways. It was usually easy to tell who belonged to each group.

This is only my speculation but I imagine Curtis and Rosa respect each other's professionalism but have different ideas on policing and clash over that. Does anyone at the station make fun of Curtis's accent? =P He doesn't look like he'd take it well... :ohnoes:

A suggestion for the future (and I stress that it's a suggestion not a critique, I'm curious what you'll do with it but it's just a thing to try) - try experimenting with shadows/highlights and making them NOT neutral, either warm or cold (and playing around with layer settings). Right now it looks like you're using black and shades of brown and pick them depending on the surface but using mostly the same colour both helps to keep lighting sort of united and saves a lot of time (this is what I do in comics - I used to pick colours for each surface but now I pick shadows, highlights and maybe add something over that if it's needed). I've seen a tutorial that explained it very easily but I can't find it. :( If I stumble upon it I'll drop you a link!

Edit: Woah, there's an alarming amount of smileys in this message but I am slightly sleep-deprived (couldn't sleep, finished some work, checked DA)!
