he he! Thanks so much. I'm finally pretty much on top of my latest project. Got all the printing done today - and then need to do some bits and bobs. THEN I'll be pretty much done on the course after next Thursday. Then I have a week and then I'm off to Barcelona.

YES, I'm so burnt out *mad professor face*. I feel impressed that I am still going. Even when Simon came over, I was working 80% of the time. I feel bad but I had so much work... It's been the longest few months I think I have ever had in my life. If anything is for sure; I won't be taking any post-graduate courses in the foreseeable future. I look forward to finally being able to respond to stuff. Sorry, you need to wait a month+ for replies - urgh.... When I'm super-busy like this I feel I actually have to pretty much go cold turkey from the online world  - as such; I didn't notice this message until today.

Then as if to top it all off a bloody lorry drove down our road and hit our cat Leo a week ago. Luckily Leo died pretty much instantly with no suffering at all. Our neighbour saw this happen and she then stopped the traffic so nobody could drive over him until we had gotten him. It's lovely when I see these acts of kindness. It was brave of her to come and tell us - I mean, who wants to be the barer of such horrible news? I really appreciate it in retrospect and it's nice to see such goodness in the world. My boyfriend picked Leo up with a towel and put him in a sleeping position in a basket so we could say goodbye. Of course, I really miss him - he was my baby. I'm still crying about it at random times. However, if he had to die; this was probably the best way it could happened for him and for me.

Sorry for the gloom. I'm actually feeling much better since I'll be able to finally stop working non-stop for a bit.

First of all - I'm really sorry about Leo. I didn't know him but he always sounded brilliant, and he looked adorable, and he never did anyone any harm.

And I think you are right - it sucks for us to lose someone but dying instantly is a good way to go. He didn't have to feel annoyed about getting older and slower (I think animals take it easier than humans, but they also can't get used to their bodies failing and browse the Internet on AAC devices and such).

Don't worry about replying slowly (I actually replied to your biggest comment only last week or so)! :) I also try to get offline when I'm too busy and need to get something done or need to process some feelings. I was starting to worry something bad happened (one of the times I'm NOT glad to be right) but I totally understand wanting to be alone. I think everyone should talk when they feel ready to talk, the Internet and mobile gadgets ruin it a bit with everyone feeling like they are expected to mention anything important in some status update somewhere.

So good luck with the remainder of the course and write back when you feel like!

I think he would still have loved life even if he was older and slower though. We had a cat before (one that just kind of adopted us). She was an old girl and was going blind. She sometimes walked into walls by accident. Her brain hadn't quite figured she wasn't quite able to judge distances so well.

She was still happy most of the time though. Even though her end was a bit more traumatic; I think she appreciated the extra years. She lived like a queen with us :)  I'm not saying you're wrong. I just wish Leo had some more years. I keep remembering he only had two summers. When I think of this; I find it a sad thought. He loved being outside the most.

Thanks so much. I've been cold-turkey from the internet due to excessive coursework  :)

Thanks so much for the wishes and the cake badge *feels special*. I've have so much coursework that i've had to leave the internet behind for a while. but the term will be ending in about a week - then I'll be jetting off to Barcelona. I look forward to actually being part of the internet again after this!
